Science Core for Nursing, Certificate of Achievement

Science Core for Nursing Certificate of Achievement is designed to ensure the students are equipped for successful completion of key courses toward the Allied Health programs and also to provide a fundamental background for successful completion of the scientific portion of the ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS). This program satisfies the core science requirements for the Allied Health programs and enables the students with problem solving and critical thinking abilities necessary to enter Allied Health programs.
Program Outcomes
- Articulate the structure function relationships within the human body.
- Differentiate between commonly encountered infectious and non-infectious disease states in humans.
- Evaluate the impacts of society and the environment on human health outcomes.
- Apply basic laboratory skills and analytical methods to test a scientific hypothesis.
- Evaluate related scientific information based on the strength and quality of supporting evidence.
