Fire Science Technology, AS

Students who wish to concentrate on meeting the requirements for entry level employment in the fire service or promotional opportunities will develop the required knowledge, skills and abilities in fire suppression, fire prevention, training and administration. opportunities also exist with private industry safety programs, insurance companies and fire equipment manufacturing firms. Through the expertise of the faculty and the exposure to professional fire service personnel, students can expect to be trained in the latest theories and techniques in fire technology, firefighting skills and emergency medical training. Students will also obtain the basic general educational requirements needed to make them a well rounded graduate.

Program Outcomes

  1. Successfully complete a written test with a minimum 80% passing score.
  2. Demonstration of the proper techniques required to perform on fire and medical emergencies with an 80% success rate.
  3. Identify all of the divisions within the fire service and the responsibilities associated with each with a minimum 80% passing score.
