This certificate indicates that students have achieved and demonstrated competencies required to provide child care for children ages 0-12. Students will learn the basics of child development, behavior modification techniques, how to care for children who have experienced trauma, CPR/First Aid, basic record keeping and computer use, and other currently relevant topics related to the care and education of young children.
Program Student Learning Outcomes:
- Students will demonstrate understanding of how children develop physically, social-emotionally, cognitively and linguistically.
- Students will demonstrate knowledge and application of behavior modification techniques.
- Students will demonstrate knowledge of how to care for children who have experienced trauma.
- Students will demonstrate knowledge of CPR/First Aid, basic record keeping, computer use, and other currently relevant topics related to the care and education of young children.
