ADS 111 - Law and Ethics in Alcohol and Drug Studies Credits: 3
Advisory: ENGL C1000 Description: Explores the legal, ethical, professional and personal issues involved in the treatment of substance use disorders. Emphasis is placed on professional responsibility and patient rights as well as issues of the work place and professional growth.

Student Learning Outcomes:
- Analyze and describe appropriate legal and ethical issues and practices within ADS treatment.
- Identify and analyze the client’s rights and ADS worker responsibilities as well as being able to determine appropriate ethical boundaries in the client and professional relationships.
- Apply HIPAA and CFR 42 Part II concepts so as to be able to provide both legal and ethical services.
