ADS 103 - Case Management and Documentation Credits: 3
Advisory: ENGL C1000 Description: This course outlines information related to: initial admission requirements for alcohol and drug assistance programs; assessment requirements for orientation to the programs; disciplinary rules; costs of programs; methods of payment; clients’ rights; treatment goals; methods of charting; treatment and recovery plans; roles of aftercare in the treatment process; importance of client follow-up; relapse dynamics; various modalities of treatment; program planning; client education; community resources; referrals; and intervention techniques. This course is designed for the student in the Alcohol and Drug Studies program.

Student Learning Outcomes:
- SLO #1: Analyze and describe the initial assessment information needed to complete the intake interview including alcohol/ drug history, education background, vocation information, cultural background, socio-economic information, life-style and living situations, medical status, strengths and weaknesses, and specific problems for development of a treatment plan.
- SLO #2: Synthesize the capability necessary to complete reports and records, charting the results of assessment and the treatment plan; writing reports, keeping progress notes, and doing discharge and other related client data.
